Customer Case | Global Pass BMS Testing Solution, Empowering Global TOP Institutions' Efficient Certification
New Energy Storage's Global "Sprint", Certification Standards forSeven Countries Eight Systems
With "peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality" becoming the main theme of global energy development, electrochemical energy storage is experiencing unprecedented rapid growth. According to statistics from a third party, the global electrochemical energy storage installed capacity has grown at an average annual rate of over 90%in the past five years, with the added capacity increasing more than 20 times. In 2024, the global energy storage market is expected to add as high as 175.8GWh.

The BMS, which has functions such as battery monitoring, balancing management, and communication control, can prevent overcharging and over-discharging of batteries, extend battery life, and is the "brain" of the battery in energy storage power stations. It is crucial to the safe and reliable operation of energy storage power stations. Therefore, major regions around the world, including China, North America, and Europe, have formulated relevant standards to regulate the functional and performance requirements of BMS,bringing challenges to enterprises in design certification and compliance.
Customer Background & Testing Requirements
Customer C is a globally leading standardized testing and certification organization, dedicated to enhancing product safety, usability, and sustainability. It provides localized one-stop testing and certification services for Chinese and foreign new energy enterprises.
With the surging demand for energy storage BMS certification in North America, the customer plans to conduct comprehensive testing and certification in line with the CSA ANSI C22.2 No. 340-23 standard to meet market access requirements. Issued by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) in April 2023, this standard applies to BMS in energy storage systems, uninterruptible power supply systems, auxiliary power systems, electric vehicles, and light rail transit systems. Its core test items include temperature testing, dielectric strength testing, battery balancing testing, I/O validation testing, abnormal operation testing, and electromagnetic compatibility testing.
"Global Pass" BMS Testing Solution
To address the earlier testing requirements, after multiple technical exchanges,NGI has developed the world's first "Global Pass" energy storage BMS testing system, which not only meets the testing standards of North America but also supports requirements from other national and regional standards such as GB/T 34131-2023, UL9540, and IEC62619.

With years of deep engagement in the BMS testing field, NGI's independently developed NES6100 Power Storage BMS Testing System is widely applied in R&D, manufacturing, third-party testing, system integration, and more. This solution offers the following customer values:
